Ice Skating

One of the easiest ways to take in the outdoors at Tahoe is to lace up in a pair of ice skates! The Northstar ski resort has a 9,000 square foot ice skating rink that is free if you bring your own skates. If you didn’t have room to pack your own skate’s rentals are only $10 for all ages. It's located right in the middle of the Village at Northstar and has a warm surrounding of lounge chairs, fire pits, as well as bars and restaurants. The area can double as a cozy hangout for anyone in the family who would rather take in the scene. Follow the link below for more information:

What To Wear:

If you have your own skates bring them so you won’t have to pay for rentals. Make sure everyone is dressed for the weather with layers, jackets, gloves, and hats! Remember temperatures drop quickly as the sun goes down, so depending on when you go skate you may need to bring some extra layers along. Crew or any sock that hits above the calf should be worn to avoid any rubbing from rentals.

What To Bring:

Ice skating can be hard work, especially for beginners, so make sure everyone has plenty of water. If you are heading out during the daylight hours bring sunscreen and sunglasses, as the light reflecting off the ice can become more intense.
